An elementary school in Rockwood was closed on Friday due to an early morning ICE operation at a nearby apartment complex.
According to residents, law enforcement arrived at the Carrington Square apartment complex around 6 a.m. and served a search warrant as part of an investigation.
"They [officers] said supposedly because there was a whole bunch of guns and drugs, and that's why they were coming to the apartment,"
said Carrington Square resident Priscilla Mazorra.
The operation has sparked concerns in the community, with a local state representative taking to social media to address the issue.
