The San Jose Sharks were on the verge of blowing a third-period lead, but Macklin Celebrini saved the day with a 6-5 OT victory.
Despite dominating the first period 2-0, the Sharks allowed the opposing team to catch up. Vincent Iorio's high-sticking penalty led to a power play goal by Marcus Johansson, and an unforced error by Tyler Toffoli and Vincent Desharnais resulted in a 2-on-1 goal by Marco Rossi.
"That was our own doing," said San Jose Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky. "That's one big lesson."
The same pattern repeated itself in the third period, but the Sharks managed to regain their lead. Author's summary: Celebrini saves Sharks from defeat.
