London Councils has published data on parking enforcement and appeals in London for 2024-25, showing a total of 9,462,185 Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) issued to motorists.
This represents a 13.5% increase in PCNs issued since 2023-24, with a 13.4% rise in parking PCNs, a 16.8% increase in bus lane PCNs, and a 13.3% increase in moving traffic PCNs.
The total number of PCN appeals received by London Tribunals has increased by 13.6%, from 42,193 in 2023-24 to 47,935 in 2024-25.
If a motorist believes a PCN has been issued unfairly, they can contact the local authority that issued it to make a challenge.
