The Robeson County Sheriff's Office is asking witnesses to come forward as the investigation into a mass shooting at a Halloween party near Maxton continues.
The shooting, which occurred early Saturday morning, left two people dead and 11 people injured. The department is working to identify witnesses and individuals involved, and ensure justice is served.
"I ask that the public please be patient as we continue to work alongside state and federal agencies to bring those responsible for this horrific act to justice,"said Sheriff Burnis Wilkins.
The investigation is complex, with multiple witnesses being identified and victims still hospitalized, requiring careful analysis of forensic evidence.
"Rest assured, we will not stop until those involved are held accountable."
