State Representative Marcus Wiedower (R-Watkinsville) is resigning from his seat, prompting a special election to replace him.
Wiedower, a four-term legislator representing District 121, cited his desire to focus on his rapidly growing real estate business, Hillpointe, where he serves as vice president of external affairs.
“This decision has been incredibly difficult. Serving in the Georgia General Assembly has been one of the greatest honors of my life,”
He expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him by his constituents and colleagues, and looks forward to remaining involved in the community and addressing Georgia's challenges, particularly attainable housing, through his work at Hillpointe.
