The Sopranos has a iconic opening title sequence, featuring Tony Soprano driving through New Jersey, accompanied by "Woke Up This Morning" by Alabama 3.
However, creator David Chase initially wanted a different song, by Elvis Costello, which would have explicitly stated the show's themes.
It would have been a terrible choice, ruining the show's subtlety.
Luckily, Chase chose the soulful techno track, making The Sopranos' opener one of the most perfect in television history.
