The Ontario Chamber of Commerce has submitted its budget recommendations to the federal government ahead of the November budget release.
A competitive business and trade environment is a top priority, according to the chamber. The Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce president, La-Na Fragomeni, stated:
“What’s going to be most important is what is in the actual budget next week,”
The budget comes at a time of economic uncertainty due to the ongoing global trade war and the federal Liberal government's inability to reach a trade deal with the United States, particularly one that protects the steel, aluminum, and auto industries.
The Ontario Chamber's recommendations aim to address these challenges and create a more favorable business environment.
