Former Idaho Senator Seeks Senate Seat
Todd Achilles, an independent candidate from Boise, is running against three-term Idaho Republican Senator Risch.
Achilles aims to address the "rigged economy" and promote economic populism. He stated,
"The core issue that I hear again and again from folks on the right, the left or in the middle, is it’s the rigged economy, and it’s just not working."
He emphasized the need to
"break up the monopolies" and "restore livable wages,"citing that approximately 60% of Idahoans do not earn a livable wage.
Achilles believes that if he and other independent Senate candidates win, they can gain control of the chamber and set its agenda using their tie-breaking power.
