Cardiovascular, renal and metabolic (CRM) conditions are increasingly prevalent and expensive in the Medicare fee-for-service population. The average cost per patient with CRM conditions is $1,364, compared to $743 overall.

Reflecting a disproportionate cost burden and growing need for population health development.

A recent abstract presented at the 2025 Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) Nexus Conference, titled 'Retrospective analysis of cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic conditions in the Medicare population using 100% FFS claims data,' highlights this issue. The research team included Benjamin Miao, Pharm.D., product director at Boehringer-Ingelheim.
