A 20-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with a recent gang-related shooting in Westbury, which left two teenagers dead and five others wounded.
According to the South African Police Service's Anti-Gang Unit (AGU), the arrest was made after receiving intelligence from the Crime Intelligence Unit.
The Anti-Gang Unit received critical information from Crime Intelligence about the suspect’s whereabouts. Our members followed up swiftly and successfully arrested the 20-year-old suspect at a school in Diepkloof.
The suspect was traced to a high school in Diepkloof and was positively identified before being apprehended on site, confirmed SAPS spokesperson Brenda Muridili.
