CrossCountry has announced the suspension of planned industrial action by the RMT this weekend.
The action has been called off following talks between the company and the union to resolve what RMT states are
‘issues regarding the undermining of safety-critical roles and threats to safety and jobs’.
Despite services resuming, CrossCountry has advised passengers that services are expected to be busy across the network due to a combination of planned engineering works and pre-Christmas events.
A spokesperson stated:
We are pleased that RMT has suspended planned strike action this Saturday 1 November, and we look forward to welcoming passengers on board. Thanks must also go to colleagues who have worked tirelessly to reinstate a full timetable on Saturday, to make sure people can get to where they need to be.
