The Kentucky volleyball team demonstrated its versatility in Friday's sweep of Vanderbilt, with defense dominating early and offense taking over late.
The UK defense was solid throughout, particularly in the first set, where they had 22 digs, including eight from libero Molly Tuozzo.
“Defensively, just really good tonight,” said UK head coach Craig Skinner. “Smothering most of the night. If we weren’t touching their swings with our block, our defense was picking up in the back row, so very pleased with that.”
Tuozzo credited the scouting report on Vanderbilt for her success, saying
“I think just trusting the scout. I think they hit a lot of shots to me so that made it kind of easy, but I think just trusting what I scouted for them.”
The UK offense improved as the match progressed, hitting .237 in the first set.
