New Zealand's red meat exports reached $713 million in September, a 29% increase from the same period in 2024, according to the Meat Industry Association.
The value of overall exports for the third quarter of 2025 was $2.27 billion, 20% higher than the same quarter in 2024.
“September is the first month where our sector might have seen a material impact on red meat exports to the US,”said Sirma Karapeeva, chief executive of the Meat Industry Association, noting that US tariffs did not appear to be having a significant impact on exports.
