A portion of State Route 9 in Sedro-Woolley is closed due to damaged railroad crossing safety equipment.
The closure, between SR 20 and West State Street/Trail Road, occurred after a wrong-way vehicle collided with the rail crossing signal box overnight on Saturday.
The box facilitates safe crossings and is owned by BNSF Railway.
The state Department of Transportation is coordinating with the railway to order replacement equipment.
Crews will also temporarily adjust the signal timing on SR 20 during the closure.
Author's summary: SR 9 in Sedro-Woolley closed indefinitely.
