Claressa Shields, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and five-division professional boxing champion, has signed a multi-fight contract reportedly worth at least $8 million. This deal could be the richest guaranteed contract in women's boxing history.
The exact number of fights covered by the agreement and the locations or dates of Shields' next bouts have not yet been disclosed. However, Shields has expressed her intention to return to competition early in 2026.
This contract involves her longtime promoter, Salita Promotions, alongside Wynn Records, a major music promoter.
“This deal represents more than just a contract, it’s a statement,” Shields said. “I’ve fought my entire career to prove that women’s boxing deserves equal respect, equal pay, and equal opportunity. Partnering with Salita Promotions and Wynn Records gives me the platform to keep breaking barriers inside and outside the ring. Together, we’re building something that’s never been done before.”
At 30 years old, Shields last competed in July against New Zealand’s Lani Daniels at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, drawing a crowd exceeding 15,000. She won by unanimous decision, improving her professional record to 17-0 and retaining her five championship belts.
Shields is widely recognized as the greatest female boxer of all time, standing 5-foot-8 and dominating across five weight classes.
Claressa Shields’ historic $8 million deal reflects her groundbreaking role in advancing women’s boxing, with plans to compete again in early 2026.
