Netflix has announced the voice cast and shared an early teaser for Stranger Things: Tales from '85, an animated spinoff of the popular series Stranger Things. Fans marked Stranger Things Day on November 6, commemorating the day Will Byers disappeared in Hawkins, Indiana.
The show is scheduled to premiere in 2026, with the new cast voicing animated versions of beloved characters:
Supporting voice roles are filled by Odessa A’zion, Janeane Garofalo, and Lou Diamond Phillips.
"When we thought about expanding the universe, creating an animated series was one of our first ideas," said Matt Duffer.
"The idea was kind of to evoke a feeling of an ’80s cartoon,” Matt added.
Ross Duffer explained that animation gave them “no limits,” allowing storytellers to “go wild.”
The Duffers revealed that turning the live-action show into animation opens new possibilities for storytelling, freeing them from practical constraints and capturing the essence of 1980s cartoons.
