The new animated series is set in the cold winter of 1985, bringing fans back to Hawkins. The original characters face new monsters and unravel a paranormal mystery haunting their town. The series is scheduled to premiere on Netflix in 2026.

“When we started talking about, was there anything else we wanted to do with Stranger Things, this was one of our first ideas,” said Ross Duffer.
Creators Matt and Ross Duffer shared in the featurette that this series began as a tribute to classic 1980s cartoons. Showrunner and executive producer Eric Robles, known for Fanboy & Chum Chum and Glitch Techs, brought bold creativity to the project by expanding into animation.
