A superb bowling display powered Team India to a 48-run victory over Australia at Carrara Oval, Queensland, on Thursday, November 6, in the fourth T20I. The Men in Blue now lead the five-match series 2-1.
After electing to bat first, India posted a total of 167/8 in 20 overs. Shubman Gill was the top scorer with a 46-run knock from 39 balls. Other notable contributions came from Abhishek Sharma, Shivam Dube, and Axar Patel scoring 28 off 21, 22 off 18, and an unbeaten 21 off 11, respectively.
In reply, Australia was bowled out for just 119 runs in 18.2 overs, losing wickets rapidly. Openers Mitchell Marsh (30 off 24) and Matthew Short (25 off 19) were the only Australian players to cross the 20-run mark.
Axar Patel was adjudged the Player of the Match for his brilliant all-round performance.
Suryakumar Yadav started well but failed to convert his innings into a big score, getting out on the first ball of the 16th over. Seeking a big hit off Xavier Bartlett's bowling, he fell short as the ball was caught by Tim David at deep square leg.
Summary: Team India’s disciplined bowling and crucial contributions with the bat secured a strong win over Australia, highlighting Axar Patel’s match-winning all-round display.
