Canon has unveiled the EOS R6 Mark III, a full-frame camera that improves significantly over its predecessor in resolution, shooting speed, and video functionality.
The EOS R6 Mark III now boasts a 32.5-megapixel sensor, up from the 24 megapixels in the EOS R6 Mark II. Despite the increase in resolution, the DIGIC X processor enables a continuous shooting speed of 40 frames per second using the electronic shutter.
The camera’s buffer for RAW images allows up to 150 shots, and its “Pre-shooting” feature captures 20 images before the shutter is fully pressed, ensuring no key moment is missed.
The autofocus system now recognizes more complex subjects such as trains, airplanes, and horses with greater accuracy, and can distinguish between similar animals like cats and dogs. Prioritized tracking can store up to ten faces, benefiting portrait and event photographers.
"The autofocus is said to work reliably down to -6.5 EV."
An internal image stabilizer offers compensation of up to 8.5 stops when using the electronic shutter. Video capabilities have also seen notable enhancements, though specifics were not detailed.
Canon’s EOS R6 Mark III combines higher resolution and faster performance with sophisticated autofocus and stabilization, targeting professionals requiring versatile image and video tools.
