The City of Brampton will host two Remembrance Day events on November 11, including a parade and a ceremony at city hall to honor Canada’s veterans.
The remembrance ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Ken Whillans Square, located in front of city hall (2 Wellington St. W.) by the Brampton Cenotaph. There will also be a sunrise service at 7:55 a.m. at Meadowvale Cemetery Church (7732 Mavis Rd.).
Though not a statutory holiday, some businesses and government services will close, including:
Beer Stores and LCBO locations will remain open with modified hours, opening at noon to observe Remembrance Day.
City hall and selected city facilities will be closed on November 11. Brampton Transit will run its regular weekday schedule, and veterans with medals, berets, uniforms, blazers, War Veteran Passes, or service papers can ride free all day.
All Brampton parks and recreation centres will operate during regular hours. However, all Brampton Library branches will be closed on November 11.
