Communities throughout the Inverness region will solemnly honor those who sacrificed their lives in conflicts during Remembrance events this weekend. Hundreds are expected to attend the city’s major annual parade and service at the Cavell Gardens war memorial.
In various towns and villages nearby, residents will also gather at war memorials to respectfully commemorate those who gave their lives for their country.
The parade in Inverness will begin at 2:20 PM on Huntly Street, involving members of the Royal British Legion Scotland (RBLS), veterans, cadet groups, young people, politicians, and civic leaders. This year, motorcyclists from the Highland Riders’ Branch of the RBLS will join the procession.
The parade will proceed across the River Ness to the war memorial, where the Remembrance service starts at 3 PM. The ceremony includes a two-minute silence, wreath-laying, and readings by pupils from Charleston Academy.
